Urgent Statement from the Kurdish Civil Society in the Diaspora on the Critical Situation in Western

On behalf of the Kurdish Civil Society in the Diaspora, we urgently raise our voice to draw attention to the current and deeply concerning situation in Western Kurdistan.

The recent military operations by Turkey in Western Kurdistan, an integral part of our Kurdistan, are of the utmost concern. We address this urgent appeal not only to responsible politicians and authorities in Germany and Europe but to the entire international community, who bears a moral responsibility for the well-being and safety of the people in Western Kurdistan.

It is essential to emphasize that the recent events in Western Kurdistan cannot be viewed in isolation. Following the attack in Ankara, it was claimed that the perpetrators originated from Western Kurdistan and that the PKK took responsibility. However, we all know that these allegations were fabricated merely to justify the attacks on Western Kurdistan. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan publicly announced that Turkey intends to destroy the entire infrastructure and energy facilities in Western Kurdistan, a move that could have catastrophic consequences for the lives of the people in the region.

We earnestly appeal to the international community and international organizations to take immediate action and hold Turkey accountable for its violations. These actions not only constitute a clear breach of international law and international human rights treaties but can also be viewed as terrorist activities aimed at destabilizing and creating chaos in the region.

The Kurdish Civil Society in the Diaspora stands in solidarity with the people of Western Kurdistan and calls upon responsible politicians and authorities worldwide to fulfill their responsibility in securing peace and justice in the region.

With utmost urgency,
